What we need:
Principal / Distinguished level architects with strong engineering backgrounds who can drive strategic transformation whilst remaining hands on. These are not ivory tower roles.
Essential capabilities:
• Work with stakeholders to define architectural vision, facilitate discussions, synthesise diverse inputs and establish strategic roadmaps
• Move between strategy and hands on implementation present to senior stakeholders and build POCs the same week
• Deep experience building modern platforms with demonstrable technical credibility design systems, write production quality code, evaluate technology choices, make sound architectural decisions
• Build modern architecture: cloud native, API first, event driven systems at scale
• Expert level understanding of API first design (RESTful, gRPC, event driven), microservices, cloud native patterns, distributed systems
• Must have architected and built platforms at scale, not just used them
• Operate across SaaS platforms (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365), on premise systems and multi cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Deep expertise in event driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ), API gateways, service mesh, observability, infrastructure as code
• Understanding of BSS/OSS systems, service orchestration, TMF standards, operating at carrier scale not optional
• Working knowledge of TMF, MEF, CAMARA standards
• Work effectively with engineering, product squads and senior stakeholders to build consensus, articulate trade offs, justify decisions
• Drive architectural decisions through collaboration, own outcomes, deliver without constant hand holding
• Comfortable with: defining target architectures, building POCs to validate decisions, rationalising vendor landscapes, putting commercial cases together, driving strategic transformation initiatives
• API versioning strategies (semantic versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation management) and designing APIs that evolve without breaking consumers
• Extensibility patterns plugins, webhooks, event subscriptions, custom objects
• SaaS product experience design building compelling product experiences within SaaS platforms, not just integration layers
• Multi tenancy architecture and tenant isolation patterns
