To implement, maintain and design database and install new systems and enhancements. Plan execution of backup, recovery and other housekeeping scripts to ensure regular maintenance and availability of databases as per corporate standards. Help validate and fine tune the capacity planning.

Lead the designing of databases for software applications by guiding team on latest features provided by the DBMS for administration, performance and specialized features (e.g., data warehousing features, real application clusters, data guard, advanced replication). Handle L3 tickets (e.g. critical production issues).

Ensure development of efficient database queries, and also that database refresh and cloning activities are carried out periodically. Set database parameters for better performance.

Carry out periodic audit activities and ensure basic controls are maintained to enable database security, compliance with change management and other corporate policies. Suggest database level changes by analyzing the database reports.

Help in preparing reports for management review meetings. Guide junior resources in carrying out activities. a) Dataguard as well as Real Application Cluster.
b) Perform RAC setup (Multiple nodes), Creation of databases, Applying patches on RAC, performance tuning, backup and recovery issues with RMAN/Data Protector, trace analysis, service creation, and cluster and system management.
c) Design, implement and support highly available RAC clusters for companywide single sign on application, as well as other database solutions using advanced replication and standby (data guard) options. Troubleshooting connectivity issues in RAC databases.
d) Implement backup policies as per application requirement.
e) Database cloning using RMAN and other available strategies.
f) Implementation of Golden gate and its configuration for RAC/Dataguard/standalone databases. Two way replication, Golden gate upgrade and patching, monitoring and troubleshooting.
g) Implementation of different database Backup and recovery strategies and database disaster recovery exercises
h) Plan and execute database major and minor upgrades including PSU.
i) Monitor user access to databases and maintains database security.
j) Monitor and optimize the performance of databases
k) Ensure Project is executed in compliance with the SLAs and AT&T processes.
l) Planning and coordination with application teams to understand business requirements. Participates in and drives discussions on production architecture and support processes.
m) Participate for 24x7 operations and supports of production databases. Should be open to provide on Call Support for critical issues
n) Provides support for business projects, product launches and release management.
