Location: Wichita, KSLong term contractIllustrated Parts Catalog/Wiring Diagram Manual Author Create and revise IPC and WDM publications by researching and analyzing released engineering and supplier documentation (drawings, parts lists, electrical schematics, etc.) for applicability and ensuring all data conforms to established design specifications. Use industry standard tools/software (Oracle, Microsoft dB, Arbortext Editor, HarnesSys and Mentor Graphics) to develop wiring and parts catalogs in accordance with industry standards. Submit work packages to create illustrations that will accompany parts information. Conduct self and peer quality checks of completed work packages for accuracy and consistency. Follow established procedures and improve procedures as necessary. Collaborate with core teams, engineers and customer service representatives to validate parts and wiring information. Ability to understand, research and analyze engineering data. Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, with experience and knowledge of aircraft operation, aircraft systems and aircraft maintenance practices. Experience using CCD, HarnesSys, Mentor Graphics, SGML/XML and/or Arbortext Editor. Professional and diplomatic demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an aviation related area preferred or equivalent experience authoring technical documents.Maintenance Manual Author Create and revise maintenance documents (maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals, non-destructive testing manuals, tool & equipment manuals and component maintenance manuals) using engineering database information, engineering drawings, functional tests and other sources to provide customers with detailed aircraft continued airworthiness instructions. Submit work packages to create illustrations that will accompany maintenance document instructions for use in technical publications. Conduct self and peer quality checks of completed work packages for accuracy and consistency. Follow established procedures and improve procedures as necessary. Collaborate with core teams, engineers and customer service representatives to validate maintenance document procedures. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an aviation related area preferred or equivalent experience authoring technical documents. A&P license a plus. Requires an understanding of engineering data, with an ability to research and analyze engineering drawings and technical documents. Mechanical aptitude with experience and knowledge of aircraft operation, aircraft systems, aircraft maintenance practices, manufacturing and GAMA/ATA guidelines. Experience using SGML/XML and/or Arbortext Editor. Professional and diplomatic demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Flight Document Author Create and revise flight documents (Airplane Flight Manual, Pilot’s Abbreviated Checklists, Operating Manuals, Pilot’s Operating Handbooks, etc.) using engineering flight test information. Conduct self and peer quality checks of completed work packages for accuracy and consistency. Follow established procedures and improve procedures as necessary. Collaborate with core teams, engineers and customer service representatives to validate flight document procedures. Requires an ability to research, analyze and interpret engineering and technical source data. Mechanical aptitude with experience and knowledge of aircraft systems and operation. Experience using Adobe FrameMaker. Detail focused and well organized with excellent verbal and written communication
